This morning I attended a conference by JPMorgan, and listened to one of their investment grade analysts - an extremely sharp guy.

While the Republican National Convention wasn't the key topic at hand, it did come up when describing things that could change their economic projections. It was kind of a "these are our projections, subject to change if...." kind of thing.

He mentioned the chaos this convention will bring, that Madison Square Gardens sits directly on top of Penn (?) Station and that the convention will massively disrupt regular passenger flow into New York City.

More ominously, though, were his comments about terrorism. He said that while officials say the area is secure there's no way they can defend an entire city.

I can't adquately relate what he said and how he said it, but all I can say is that he conveyed a sense of dread, that most people wished the convention were held in "Boston, or..." as he put it.

I don't want to say he predicted a terrorism event, but I do think he felt it would be difficult to stop it.

It is impossible to stop a dedicated individual hellbent on destruction and mayhem. Especially when that individual doesn't care if he/she survives or not.

It's a security persons worst nightmare.
